Herb Thomas is a principal at Oak Mortgage as well as Thomas Law Firm. Herb has 26 years of legal experience in real estate and mortgage lending.
Herb is a member of the Home Equity Lending Discussion Group sponsored by Mike O’Neal of Winstead, Secrest & Minick, which consists of all major banks, mortgage companies, mortgage and banking industry organizations, state agencies, federal agencies, title companies and law firms concerned with shaping the future of home equity lending in Texas.
Herb is also a a member of the newly-formed Consumer Finance Services Committee of the Business Law Section of the Texas Bar Association which will monitor and participate in the home equity lending developments.
He has closed Texas home equity loans on behalf of FDIC Employees Federal Credit Union and is the Director of the Real Estate/Mortgage Lending Section of the Cyberspace Bar Association.
Herb has extensive experience in licensing mortgage companies in the 50 states as mortgage bankers, mortgage lenders, regulated lenders, retail sellers, retail purchasers, sales finance companies, loan companies, mortgage brokers and supervised lenders.
